First step of Blogging

First step of blogging is critical where most people give up. You might wondering what it would be? First step of blogging is to start blogging. Recently I have been helping my two friends to set up their blogs. When I told them to post anything they like, they give me excuse that I am not tech geek, you have to teach me how to post.  Friends!!! if you want to post something, you have to help yourself.

When I started blogging about 3 years ago, I didn’t know the definition of blogger or blogging. But taking first step was hard. I started to read more and learned everything to know about blogging. Once you start doing it, you will love and will improve eventually.I learned everything from CSS to PHP from blogging. I recently design my blog without hiring anyone.

Take an example, if you want to start new business, first thing you will do is hire someone to build place to start business. Contractor will build it for you, but does he going to help you to get success? NOPE!!!!

I can help you to set up blog, but you have to have your own ideas to post. If I have to do everything for you from posting to commenting, then I will prefer to start my own brand new blog.

Start blogging and mess with your blog. Post whatever come up in your mind. Want to add image? Read some tutorial and add by yourself. Same goes with adding video. Blogging is just like facebooking, but more open platform then facebook. In blogging, you are boss of your stuff. In facebook, you don’t have as much option as your own blog.

You know that if you want to start blogging, whom to contact. Not me!!!! Google is best…..!

My Blog Has been Redesigned!!

It has been quite long day. I have been redesigning my blog for almost 14 hours. But it worth spending that much time and I love doing it. I decided to use thesis theme and make my own customization for it. In case if I change theme in future, I should have screen shot of my blog. After all I run this blog for memories…!

Thesis theme is highly customizable theme and you can make any change you want with little bit of coding knowledge.

The One Hundred – 100!!!

My blogging journey on nandupatel.com started almost one year and one month ago. I started blogging for fun, because it helps a lot to develop yourself and gives you new ideas. There are many things I learned through blogging and met wonderful people online.

This is my 100th post and just wanted to make post on it as memory. When I started blogging, I never thought that I will be able to write 100 posts. But as time passed, had no idea that how did I come up to 100 posts.

On nandupatel.com, I have been writing some poems, things I liked, video I found interesting and some of my memorable moments. Because of this reasons, I always think blogging as tools to pass time and keep wonderful memory alive.

Change in LetmeBuzz Blog

I have 4 blogs and letmebuzz is one of them. Letmebuzz is my blog which was unused for a while now and decided to run it. So, I made a lot change in it. Letmebuzz is blog where I talk about technology and web 2.0. Here is stuff I changed in letmebuzz.

1. Added Share it Buttons in Single Post.

Sharing is caring and I wanted same from my visitors. Sharing option is highly required feature needed for all blogger. I spend almost 2 hours to make it work. I know there are a lot of tutorial on it, but all of them have some type of fault. So, I had to find code for each button from different source. Here is screenshot of sharing button in single post.

2. Adding Category Box at bottom of Main page.

I added category box at bottom of page. It is easy for blogger to visit different category and surf around. I show it first form asino and I used his code as well. I made a lot of CSS change to fit for my blog and added twitter and facebook, which is unique feature from other blogger (Mostly everyone have site logo). Here is screenshot for that.

3. Adding Related post with thumbnail in post.

This one was harder to find even though there are lot of tutorial for that. I had to find a image class for first image to add it in related post plugins. Here is result of my hard work. I used similar post plugin but needed to make some changes in available tutorials, so it take first image as thumbnail.

4. Writing About me page.

About me page is require by visitor because they want to know the author of blog when they visit blog for first time. So, I decided to update page with a lot of info. Check out page at Letmebuzz.com Here is snapshot.

 

5. Adding Sharing Button in Teasers.

This one was little trickier than I though. I got a lot of tutorial but none of them was for my use means for my choice. I wanted a sharing buttons small and at end of excerpts unlike other blogger who have it before teaser image. Those sharing buttons looks good, but take out lot of space of teasers. First I used twitter tweet button and facebook like button, but they were twiting and sharing main page URL instead of post URL. So, I decided to research little bit to find best buttons for me. Here is screenshot of those buttons.

6. Adding Subscribe & Advertisement box at the end of Posts.

There wasn’t any problem except that I have to make it looks more cooler than regular box by adding CSS code. Screenshot.

7. Adding Page navigation

Page navigation is easy to navigate visitors and I used plugin for that instead of custom code because it looks cool and require less coding.
